Our Story
This business exists because we lost our dog.
Billy was part of our family. Like most dogs in South East Queensland, he loved being outside at night. We knew cane toads were around and we understood the risk, but nothing prepares you for how quickly it can happen.
It was Boxing Day. My brother, his partner and my nephew were visiting. The house was full and it should have been an easy family night.
The toad was hiding under the outdoor table.
Within minutes Billy was drooling and pawing at his mouth. We knew straight away what it was. What shocked us was how fast it escalated. The toxin works quickly and once it starts affecting the nervous system, things move very fast.
We were in crisis mode almost immediately.
It was the worst night our family has ever been through.
Losing Billy changed the direction of my life. After that I started digging properly into what actually works in Queensland conditions. I spoke to vets. I looked at prevention, not just reaction. I realised most families are not careless — they just do not realise how aggressive cane toad toxin can be, or how prepared you need to be before it happens.
That is why we built No More Toads.
We focus on prevention, removal and breaking the breeding cycle. Practical solutions that reduce risk — not scare tactics or quick fixes.
For the past eight months we have been operating across South East Queensland, helping families protect their pets and reclaim their yards. We have removed thousands of toads, installed barrier fencing and educated local pet owners on what to do in an emergency.
The Emergency Toad Kit exists for one reason. When panic hits, you do not think clearly. It keeps the essentials in one place so you can act immediately. It buys time. Your vet saves lives.
Billy's loss will always be part of our story. What matters now is helping other families avoid the same experience.
That is why we do this.
In loving memory of Billy
In Loving Memory of Billy
Most families are not careless. They are just unprepared. Cane toad poisoning is fast — symptoms appear within minutes, and the early signs look like ordinary distress, not an emergency. Billy's story is why education is at the heart of everything we do.
If your dog encounters a cane toad:
- Wipe the mouth and gums with a wet cloth — immediately
- Flush gently with low-pressure running water — head tilted so water drains out
- Go straight to an emergency vet if you see seizures, wobbling, or collapse — do not wait
